Shauree has been influencing the lives of young people for over 10 years. I met Shauree when I was 13 and decided to audition for InDaZone. Back then, I was a very timid and closed off girl who did not say much, but Shauree took her time with me and each day helped me to become more comfortable with myself. After becoming the team’s President, we worked closely together organizing shows and opportunities for the team. Shauree became my mentor, advising me on school decisions and giving me advice about college. She also taught me the importance of giving back to others, emphasizing volunteerism and mentoring others. She always says that we shouldn’t strive to be better than another person, but just to be better than the person we were yesterday. She is always pushing others to improve themselves and encourages self-reflection. I can truly say I am blessed to have met her and still have her in my life.
