School Aged Child Care: Staff

We believe the success of our program, and ultimately your child’s successful and happy experience, lies in the quality of our staff. Our staff members are carefully selected based on their experience, education, talents, and interpersonal skills. Our staff’s first priority is to ensure the care, safety and welfare of your child as they take part in the program. It is our objective to help your child achieve educational and personal goals.

The School Aged Child Care Program is facilitated by professional staff which includes the Director, Site Coordinator, Group Leaders, and Assistant Group Leaders.

Often times throughout the school year, we also invite student interns and volunteers from local schools. This is a wonderful opportunity for both the children and students.

All staff are required to attend an orientation training to cover such areas as program goals, emergency procedures, creating a positive climate for growth, developmental characteristics of children, recognizing child abuse, and educational enhancement projects. All staff and volunteers undergo a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check and a Department of Children and Families Background Record Check. Staff members are also certified in Red Cross Community First Aid and CPR. The staff are also trained in the Code of Ethics, along with the Friendly House (USDA) food provider’s regulations. The School Age Staff are also required to attend Director approved trainings required by Early Education and Care. All staff are EEC certifiable.

The School Aged Program has a strict policy regarding confidentiality amongst the staff and our families. All information regarding the children and families is treated in a professional and confidential manner. The children’s files are kept in a locked filing cabinet in the Director’s office, and information is provided to staff on a need to know basis.
