Seven Central Mass. Nonprofit Cited Among ‘Most Influential’

Seven central Massachusetts nonprofit leaders were recently named as being among the 50 most influential leaders in the area “who effectively wielded that power in the past year to have an outsized influence on the community,” according to an annual listing compiled by the Worcester Business Journal.

The turmoil of the last year—engendered by the coronavirus pandemic, which spotlighted public health and imposed restrictions on nearly everyone, and the murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis police, which brought issues of institutional racism to the fore—"rewrote the story of who holds the power in the Central Massachusetts economy,” the Worcester Business Journal noted.

The nonprofit leaders cited as among the 50 most influential leaders in central Massachusetts were:

  • Liz Hamilton, executive director of the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester, based in Worcester, one of the largest youth development agencies in the area.
