BGCW & 2 Gether We Eat partner for new hydroponic farming program

2gether We Eat & The Boys & Girls Club of Worcester are launching our first youth hydroponic farming program and celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, March 22. This program will teach youth how to grow healthy vegetables using hydroponics throughout the year.  The Boys & Girls Club of Worcester will have an onsite farm with 135 plants that will be able to grow and harvest several times a year, this will allow a year-round healthy food source.

“What excites me about the pilot program is that our kids will take the lead in growing, harvesting and cooking their food. These will be skills they can utilize throughout their lives. In addition, it supports our Healthy Habits programming of encouraging kids to eat more fruits & vegetables.” – Liz Hamilton, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester.

2gether We Eat is a nonprofit youth farming program. Providing food, training, and employment using indoor hydroponics to target the food deserts in our community.
