Update - March 15 on Coronavirus

Dear Club Families:

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding our Club’s response during this most unprecedented pandemic. We love and very much care about our kids. As one of the largest youth development agencies in Central Massachusetts, we understand and appreciate that many parents and kids rely on us for such resources as child care, educational support, and food. The need to provide these programs and services, however, must be balanced with the importance of maintaining the health and well-being of staff, volunteers, and youth. We know that preventing the spread of the Coronavirus is everyone’s concern. There are no easy answers, and the situation seems to be ever-changing.

Here’s what we are doing to develop a response plan:
1. We are conducting a deep-clean at all three of our Club sites tomorrow, Monday, March 16. Therefore, all three sites will be closed for youth and families on Monday.
2. We are hosting a phone conference tonight with our YouthConnect partners from the other major youth-serving agencies in the City. We will be discussing ways we can collectively support children and families.
3. Tomorrow morning, we are meeting with city, health, and community leaders to develop a community-wide action plan.
4. We will also be meeting with all of our staff and board members tomorrow. A decision about hours of operation, services and programs to be provided, etc., will be determined at those meetings.

I plan on providing another update to our Club community on Monday evening. In the meantime, should you have any questions, please email us at info@bgcwworcester.org. I thank you for your patience and support. Please know we will do everything we can to be there for you and your children.

In partnership,

Liz
