The Gift of Hope Campaign
Dear Friend,
For over 121 years, the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester has provided hope and opportunity to over 4,000 children in our city thanks to the support of corporate citizens like you. Currently we are the largest youth development agency in Central Massachusetts.
In September 2006, we opened the doors of our new Clubhouse located in the Main South neighborhood and welcomed a record number of children and youth, including 1000 new members! To meet this demand, we hired five more program staff to support the additional members that come through our doors each day. But there are still more children waiting to get in and we need your help. Your support will allow us to sustain our vital programs and help us meet this overwhelming need.
Your gift to the Boys & Girls Club will insure that we have an adequate number of programs and staff that will provide our children with the services and recreational and educational opportunities they deserve. It’s about building capacity, strengthening the Club, and in turn, strengthening our children. It’s about providing hope.
Since we know that you receive so many requests for support from worthy organizations like ours, the Boys & Girls Club has created the Consolidated Giving Program. One gift from your company will include you as a sponsor for all of the special events the Boys and Girls Club hosts throughout the year, including:
Alumni Hall of Fame Dinner
Boys & Girls Club Week
Spring Talent Show
It costs the Club $400 per year to provide membership and programming for one child. Since we offer children memberships at a cost of $10 per year (or are provided free of cost to those who cannot afford to pay) there is a great need to generate support for the increased number of children who are served by the new Main South Club as well as those who are served by the Plumley Village and Great Brook Valley Club sites.
We ask that your company consider a gift of $400 – which will underwrite the cost of 1 child to participate in Boys & Girls Club programming. Think of the impact our gift will make on a child who can’t afford other activities or doesn’t have the parental support to make the most of their time out of school. And think about thei mpact your gift will make on our community’s effort to create a hopeful future.
Please do all you can to help us make the Club experience available for the thousands of more kids waiting for a safe place to learn and grow.
Hope can’t wait.
Sincerely,
|
