Music Program

Dedication to delivering hope and opportunity to our youth runs deep, and is the foundation for our music program. While many disadvantaged young people don’t have the opportunity to engage in music exploration, members at the Boys & Girls Club are exposed to music in ways like never before.  Members interested in learning to play the piano and keyboard are offered lessons and practice time daily, incorporating learning strategies that continue to reinforce academic success. The music program uses a multifaceted approach, incorporating tactile elements, historical and ethnic exploration, basic music theory, games, activities and crafts, and mentoring.

Club members also have the opportunity to song-write and record their songs in a modern digital recording studio. New to our Club are drum lessons and our girls-only glee club, while the Boys & Girls Club seeks to open all doors for our members. Kids are creative, and the Boys & Girls Club is committed to providing them a place where they can confidently excel, and express their ideas.

We collaborate with Pakachoag Music School to offer our kids guitar lessons from instructors from Harvard University. In addition, student volunteers from Clark University have held ukulele lessons for our members so they are exposed to several different types of musical instruments. Are you musically inclined and interested in volunteering in our music department? We'd love to have you!
