Fran Pisegna

Year of Induction:
2013

Fran Pisegna first enrolled at the Ionic Ave. Clubhouse because his parents, who owned a grocery store on Newbury Street, wanted to keep him out of trouble. Before beginning his career at the Worcester County Sheriff's Office where he currently works as a Program Director, Fran was Chief of Staff for Paul Cellucci's Governor's Alliance Against Drugs. In addition to being a member of the Parks Commission for six years, Fran is the current chair of Holiday Rock, a committee which coordinates a night of entertainment and food while collecting holiday gifts for Club members. He, along with Paul Riley and Tony Morano, is also an active member of Friends of Worcester Neighborhoods, who each year sponsor a holiday food drive at Thanksgiving, collect toys at Christmas, and put on a golf tournament to support the summer programs at the Club. After spending his youth at the Club, Fran recognizes the importance of the programs and activities. "Positive alternatives are key. Idle time is the worst enemy; kids need to be engaged, whether it's sports or arts or activities that interest them."
